It’s been a busy couple of months, I’ve been madly trying to force some more training into a busy schedule at work, getting my entries in for the complete sweep of Rapid Ascent events this year and pulling together the logistics of travelling around the country participating in a stack of class off road races.
There are two multisport races in the Rapid Ascent inventory. I’ve done the Marysville to Melbourne a couple of times and this year we re raised the Tuesday Night Parmas – Australia’s least known adventure racing team. I’ve recently started some longer distance training with Australia’s other least known adventure racing team, Up There Bazzaley.
This year, Ben, Tanis and I are competing in the Mainpeak Multisport Race in WA. So today I’d like to introduce you to Australia’s “other” other least known adventure racing team…
09 September 2012
Before I do though we need a name. Choosing a name for these events is an important part of the process. There are some really creative names out there –
“Team Mandatory Equipment”, “Fluster Cucks”, “MacPac Girls on Top”, “Fugawi” to name a few… You get the idea
This is how we started…
To: Adam Evans CC: Tanis: From Ben Kelly Dude, Confirming that we are happy for you to do ride & paddle for the Mainpeak. We have thought a bit about names............... our previous team names have been lame, based on first two letters of each of us. BUT, that might create some ideas for us - B for Ben, A for Adam and T for Tanis = BAT Bat man team BAT Men + women BAT - TLERS C'MON BAT TAB CTRL ALT DEL TAB BAT BAA TAB BAT TAB X AJ BAT shit, this is not really working is it. maybe this will inspire something........ we'll let you know if we come up with anything else :-)
So when I got around to entering I left the team name TBA. Fully intending to go back and change it when we came up with something original.
As a result we are now called “Team TBA”.
Simple, Witty and fully compliant with Ben and Tanis’ name invention methods.
Over the next month or so I’ll introduce you to them in a little more detail. If you are in WA for the race, please keep an eye out for us, we’d love to meet like minded adventurers and share over inflated stories of races won and lost.
In the meantime, here’s a little teaser to keep you keen..
